SEDATION

We try hard to make your dental experiences as pleasant as possible. Even so, we recognize that some patients have anxiety about receiving dental care. To make the process easier for you, we are happy to provide mild sedation when appropriate. Please let us know if you have any questions regarding dental anxiety.

NITROUS OXIDE

Also known as “laughing gas”, nitrous oxide is a safe and effective gas that is inhaled through the nose during the procedure. It provides a feeling of relaxation during the procedure and wears off within a few minutes of the end of the procedure. You will be able to drive as normal after your appointment.

ORAL SEDATION

In cases that the patient is very anxious about a dental procedure, we can offer a prescription for an oral sedative, such as Valium or Halcion. These mild sedatives will cause a feeling of relaxation during the appointment. Please be aware that you must have a driver if you are taking an oral sedative for your appointment. They must be taken prior to the appointment, so we will provide you a prescription ahead of time.
